UnitDown Returns — Now Reborn as UnitDown: Disbanded

I’ve been diving deep into the new character controller and started layering in my own custom movement system — wall jumps, ledge climbs, slide-boosted jumps, and tighter, more responsive gunplay. It’s still very much a work in progress, but it already feels great, which is always a good sign.

To make things more transparent (and fun), I’ve decided to start sharing test builds as a WebAssembly project here on itch.io. You can jump in and play it directly in the browser — no downloads required. (Desktop only for now, no mobile support yet.)

This update also brings in explosive barrels, along with a solid round of fixes to the player controller’s network replication. A lot of under-the-hood cleanup, but it’s paying off in smoother, more reliable gameplay. For the main menu theme, I pulled one of my own tracks from Misc Game Music Pack 1, which will be hitting the asset store soon.

If you give the build a try, I’d love to hear what you think. Drop feedback in the comments or shoot me an email at sean@mindbreatherstudio.com every bit helps shape where this goes next.

I’ll keep pushing updates and see where this project wants to take me.
